Oops. I missed my monthly post yesterday. I was a little busy, though, so I have a good excuse. Mommy had to work and Daddy is sick with an ear infection so I had to take care of him all day. 🙂

By the end of this month I SHOULD be able to:

*keep head level when pulled to sitting – yup.
*say ah-goo – yup, yup.

Will PROBABLY be able to:

*bear some weight on legs when held upright – yup.
*sit without support – grrr…not yet, and I’m trying so hard!

May possibly be able to:

*stand holding onto someone or something – not really, my legs still buckle after a second or so.
*object if you take a toy away – hee hee, I’ve done this a couple times now. You’d think my parents would give toy back but noooooo…
*work to get a toy out of reach – of course, I want to play with it.
*pass a cube or other object from one hand to the other – hmmm…don’t think I’ve tried this yet. I usually just hold stuff with both hands at the same time.
*look for a dropped object – nah…mommy just picks it up for me anyway 😉
*rake a raisin and pick it up wiht a fist – mommy hasn’t really tried to give me raisins yet.
*turn in the direction of a voice – you bet! And, I’m pretty sure I know my name now.
*babble – kinda.

May even be able to:

*pull to a standing position from sitting – I can’t sit yet, so definitely can’t stand.
*get into a sitting position from stomach – see above and I hate being on my stomach right now, I get stuck.
*pick up tiny object with any part of thumb or finger – not yet.
*say mama or dada indiscriminately – nope, but when mommy tries to get me to say those words I laugh. 😀

Yup, I’m 4 months old today. Check out what I should be and will soon be able to do.

By the end of this month, I SHOULD be able to:

*on stomach, lift head 90 degrees – yup, but I hate being on my stomach and I will let everyone know it.
*laugh out loud – sorta. You can tell I’m laughing, but I don’t always make noise and when I do it’s closer to a giggle than a laugh (same as last month :()
*follow an object in an arc about 6 inches above the face for 180 degrees (from one side to the other) – yup.

…will PROBABLY be able to:

*hold head steady when upright – yup, see my last 2 month’s posts
*on stomach, raise chest, supported by arms-not yet, when I try just my bum goes up, I think I have things backwards.
*roll over – I can get halfway over now, I don’t know if I want to get the rest of the way, it means lying on my stomach until mommy or daddy rescues me.
*grasp a rattle held to backs or tips of fingers – yup, I especially love greg the bunny.
*reach for an object – I don’t really reach yet.
*squeal in delight – yup.

…may POSSIBLY be able to:
*keep head level with body when pulled to sitting – hard to tell. when mommy tries, I like to push with my legs so I start to stand at the same time.
*turn in the direction of a voice, particularily mommy’s – yup. I especially like it when she calls me from work and Daddy puts mommy on speaker, I can intently watch the phone and not miss mommy as much.
*say ah-goo or similar vowel-constonant combination – yup, I do it alot.
*razz (make a wet razzing sound) – Do this all the time now too.

…may even be able to:

*bear some weight on legs when held upright – I love doing this. I’m even playing in my Jolly Jumper now.
*sit without support – yup, but I tilt and evenually fall over, but I’d rather sit than lay down now.
*object if a toy is taken away – hmmm…I might have to start doing this.

One other thing – I had rice cereal today. This is the second time I’ve had it, but I liked it this time and ate up the whole amount that was made for me. This growing-up thing is kinda cool! I can’t wait to see what new stuff I get introduced to next.

Well, I’m 3 months old today and there is so much new stuff that I can do, I think my mom is worried I will be going to college soon. 🙂

*follow an object in an arc about 6 inches above the face to the midline (straight ahead) – yup.

…will PROBABLY be able to:

*laugh out loud – sorta. You can tell I’m laughing, but I don’t always make noise and when I do it’s closer to a giggle than a laugh.
*on stomach, lift head 90 degrees – yup.
*squeal in delight – yup. Mommy loves hearing me do this.
*bring both hands together – I do this a lot now. When I first did it (mentioned in a previous post), it was more random than anything, now it’s not.
*smile spontaneously – yup, everyone has been loving my smile for a while now.
*follow an object in an arc about 6 inches above the face for 180 degrees (from one side to the other) – yup.

…may even be able to:

*hold head steady when upright – yup, see my last month’s post
*on stomach, raise chest, supported by arms – not yet, but I’m trying and getting close.
*roll over – nope, still trying. But mommy’s been helping me and it’s a really fun game we like to play.
*grasp a rattle held to backs or tips of fingers – yup. And I even play with it a little now.
*pay attention to a raisin or other very small object – Mommy still hasn’t tried this one with me yet, but I like to pay attention to everything now.

…may POSSIBLY even be able to:

*bear some weight on legs when held upright – I love doing this. Mommy does this for me when I’m fussy and it makes me feel better.
*reach for an object – Finally got this one down. I love grabbing my toys and pulling them up to my mouth.
*keep head level with body when pulled to a sitting position – not yet, but close.
*turn in the direction of a voice, particularily mommy’s – Not really. I can hear my parent’s but I’m not ready to turn and look yet.
*say ah-goo or similar vowel-constonant combination – yup. I do this along with laughing and squealing when I’m happy.
*razz (make a wet razzing sound) – I’ve done it once about a week ago. I might do it more soon.

Hey all. I’m two months old today. Wow, it just seems like yesterday my mom and I were still in the hospital. Here is how I should be developing for the second month (note that a lot repeat from last month or have moved up a stage, but I’m going to go over them again anyway).

By the end of this month, I SHOULD be able to:

*smile in response to someone’s smile – I smile, but it’s still random.
*follow an object in an arc about 6 inches above the face to the midline (straight ahead) – yup.
*respond to a bell in some way, such as startling, crying or quieting – yup, if you’ve been reading the site, you know how long I’ve been doing this for. 😉
*vocalize in ways other than crying (e.g cooing) – yup, mom wasn’t sure if it was cooing, but I’m not crying and sometimes, I’m having fun.

…will PROBABLY be able to:

*on stomach, lift head 45 degrees – yup.
*follow an object in an arc about 6 inches above the face past the midline – yup.

…may even be able to:

*hold head steady when upright – yup, been doing this for a while too. I actually like to sit up like this, and sometimes I will cry until mommy or daddy sit me up this way.
*roll over – nope, can’t do that yet but I’ve been trying.
*grasp a rattle held to backs or tips of fingers – yup, it’s fun making mommy and daddy give me the rattle, it’s easier than getting it myself. 😉
*pay attention to a raisin or other very small object – hmmm…mommy hasn’t tried this one with me yet.
*reach for an object – nope, not ready for that one yet.
*say ah-goo or similar vowel-constonant combination – nope, I’ve got a lot of practice yet before I start that for mommy.

…may POSSIBLY even be able to:

*smile spontaneously – hmm, appartenly I’m doing things backwards. I won’t smile if you smile, but I will smile randomly.
*bring both hands together – yup this was covered by my mom last month.
*laugh out loud – nope not yet.
*squeal in delight – not yet, but I’m close, a lot of my cooing is when I’m extra happy.
*follow an object in an arc about 6 inches above the face for 180 degrees (from one side to the other) – yup, been doing this for a while too, but it has to be a toy, I won’t follow mommy or daddy’s fingers.

Wow, my first post to the surfergeeks blog. I can’t even talk yet and I’m voicing my opinion with the written word over the internet.

My parents, Rob and Nikki, thought I should have an account here, that way I can update everyone on how I’m doing. Maybe I will take over my monthly update postings for my mom. I will definitely let everyone know about my important firsts. When I first walk, get my first tooth, you know, that kind of stuff.

Anyway, it’s way past my bedtime. I just wanted everyone to know that I’ve join the fight to bring you the most useless information on the web.
