Surfergeeks

So today was the day! Nikki had an appointment with the OB-Gyn LAST Friday (the 2nd) and was informed that, while he’ll make a follow-up appointment for the 10th, she won’t need it. So we’re on Condition Orange alert all week, taking the guy at his word.

Yeah. Right.

So she goes in on the 10th for her appointment and he decides that if she hasn’t had the little guy by today they’ll give us a call, we’ll head in and he’ll break the water. We’re sitting around at home most of the day waiting for the call and just before 4pm it finally comes - so in we go.

At about 5:30-ish they finally use a sitck to do the job and then it’s just a matter of waiting. Lots of walking, checking the heartbeat, etc. About 7:00-ish the contractions start coming fairly regularly and the decision is made about 7:30-ish to start prepping for the epidural. After a couple false starts by a resident doctor, she goes off to get her boss. The boss comes in probably around 8:15 and starts to do the whole process over when it’s decided by the baby that the epidural is too late. He’s coming out now! Before we know it, the little goobers crying away and in Mommy’s arms by about 8:35 with a birth time of 8:33pm.
