So, I’m now 8 months old. I’ll be a geezer soon!

By the end of this month I SHOULD be able to:

*bear some weight on legs when held upright – yup, I’d rather stand then sit or lie down.
*feed self a cracker – yup
*pass a cube or other object from one hand to the other – yup.
*rake a raisin and pick it up in fist – not a raisin, but I do go after anything small. The mouth is the best place to put it too!
*turn in the direction of a voice – yup, I seem to respond to my own name too.
*look for a dropped object – you bet, I want it back.

Will PROBABLY be able to:

*stand holding onto something or someone - yup.
*object if you take a toy away - Of course, and really loudly too!
*work to get a toy out of reach – yup.
*get into a sitting position from stomach – not yet and it’s really frustrating me. I try and try and try.

May possibly be able to:

*pull up to standing position from sitting. – I can’t get to a sitting position on my own yet, so draw your own conclusions
*pick up tiny object with any part of thumb and finger – clumsy, but can do.
*say mama or dada indiscriminately – hehe, not yet, but I know my parents want me to say them.

May even be able to:

*play patty-cake or wave bye-bye – Nope, but I’m sure mommy is looking forward to this.
*walk holding onto furniture – nope.
*stand alone momentarily – it’s for a second and I’d fall and hurt myself if mommy wasn’t there to catch me.
*understand the word no – ironically, nope.
