Star Light, Star Bright
This is cool. I would love to have one of these. It’d be great for the kid’s room.

We pride ourselves in bringing y’all the must useless information on the internet (hell, it’s in our tagline). Fortunately, most of the most useless stuff is also kinda cool. Unfortunately, we’re not so good at this. My goal with this post is to change that. I’m planning on posting stuff that I come across throughout the day that I find interesting, cool, gross, etc. I’ll also probably throw in my two cents on the link that I provide.

To start off this herculean effort, I bring you this:

Kentucky Fried Chicken is back…and…cool?
So, KFC wants to rebrand itself as cool huh? Well, some of the things they are proposing sound interesting, but ottomans to put your feet up on? Mixed with greasy chicken? To borrow an oft-used phrase over at fark – what could possibly go wrong? Oh yeah, and “Sweet & Spicy Candy Apple Chicken Wings”??? WTF??? Damn southerners…of course, what can I really expect from a society that likes chitlins…

Since there are some of you (*cough*Jen*cough) whining that I can post about how great the dishwasher is but not divulge the confirmed sex of the baby – here it is: a boy. Happy now Jen? :-)

Seriously though, I figured that Nikki would make that post but she didn’t. We had suspected it was a boy but the doctor confirmed it. God help society – there’ll be a little me running around…

New dishwasher = relief from the gods.

Now we just need to get the guy back to hook up our barbeque and this summer is going to ROCK!

Speaking of Rock, anyone wanna go see Kid Rock in July? Lemme know. Don’t wanna go alone.

We’re finally getting our dishwasher installed! Hurray!!! You see, we bought it back on Easter Monday. Naturally, the specific model we wanted wasn’t in stock so it had to be ordered. Our salesman, Joe, was pretty decent and said it would probably be about a week. It was actually closer to two weeks as we got the call this past Friday letting us know it was in. I called them back to make arrangements for the delivery and installation of the dishwasher. It’s probably not too difficult to install, but a) I’m not confident enough in my plumbing abilities to tackle such a project and b) I’m not going to risk writing off a $1000 dishwasher to save $100. Thanks, but no. So I was told that delivery and installation would take place on Monday – our day off. Delivery took place. Installation, not so much. So I gave Joe a call yesterday and he said he would make sure it happened. As a side note to this story, when I called him, I identified myself as “This is Rob Allison. We bought a Maytag dishwasher from you on Easter Monday”. He said that he remembered. Here’s the thing – he really did. He remembered that we could only have it delivered on Mondays or else it would have to be after 6pm the rest of the week. Very cool. Anyhoo – back to my story. He was going to give us a call to let us know when the installation was happening. We needed to get groceries and when we hadn’t heard from him by 5:30 I gave him a callback. He’d been trying to get ahold of the installer all day and promised to call us as soon as he did. He called this morning to let us know that the installer will be coming out tomorrow night to install the dishwasher. Finally. So now we just have to avoid eating food that uses plates tonight and tomorrow night.

On another topic. You may noticed that we haven’t really posted much lately. There’s a reason for that. Spring is here and we’re golfing. A lot. You see, we’ve got Tiger Woods 2004 for the XBox and that has been occupying a LARGE portion of our time. Oh, you thought we meant actually physically going out to the links and chasing a ball around 18 holes? Outdoors? Who do you think we are?

Nikki’s got a monthly checkup tomorrow so she may have a post to make tomorrow on the results of that. We’ll see. It depends a lot on the whole golf thing…

The tagline from Fark.com says it best:
While planning your robbery, make sure the cell phone in your pocket doesn’t call 911.

Check out the news article about a couple of burglars who did this.
