So…I figured I would install the latest update to the picture gallery software. Yeah…that didn’t work so well…Well, no, that’s not quite true – the upgrade seemed to go fine. Then when I went to re-run the configuration wizard it tells me that the server doesn’t have a certain function enabled. I’ve submitted a trouble ticket to see if it can be resolved. I hope it can…
So…in the meantime – no pictures for now….

Wow…it’s been a while since I posted here. There’s been a few things I’ve wanted to post about but just never managed to get around to it – so we’ll call this a catchup post.
First, thank you to everyone who has congratulated us on our engagement. I’ve told most people, but just so that it’s here as well: Nikki was SUCH A GIRL! She cried (tears of joy and surprise she assures me). Now if only I can get her in her long skirts…
Second, thank you to those who came out last night to Nikki’s birthday dinner. There has been a lot of speculation regarding the purpose of the dinner. Some had speculated that we were going to use this dinner to announce our engagement to everyone. That wasn’t quite right. I originally came up with the plan to have everyone come out for dinner so that we could celebrate Nic’s birthday. Sure, it was only 28, not a big milestone, but birthdays rock! Then I came up with the idea that, hey, since everyone is going to be there – why not propose to her there? I had started working on what I was going to say and everything. Then Nic’s Mom goes and tells her that she figures that I’m going to propose at the dinner. Well, can’t be having the ‘rents be right – so I go and propose ahead of plan. THEN Jason sends an email congratulating us on our engagement. (He was taking a shot in the dark that we were already engaged and was using the dinner to announce it) So it would seem that, while she knew I’d be proposing sometime in the near future, Nikki was the only one completely clueless as to HOW soon I was doing it.
Next up – The Wedding. Beats me. No clue. Got more important things to do first. The TOP priority is getting a house. This WILL happen, contrary to what some may think, soon. The taxes are ready to be filed, I just need to wait for payday to go and file them. Then it’s off to get pre-approved and then give our realtor a call. Barring any huge lottery wins (and I don’t think the $5 I won on Encore this past Friday counts) we’re looking at 2006 as being the year. We’ve got a date in mind but a lot of factors need to be examined first.
Kids…yeah…they’re in the plan too. Everyone has their own idea of when we should have kids. We have our ideas too. Wanna see whose ideas win out? Wait and see…
So…let’s see…what else…
Oh yeah – Neverwinter Nights. This is THE computer Role Playing Game to own. I’ve owned it since the day it was released and Nikki just picked it up so we could play multiplayer. We both wanted to go through the single player campaign first so we could get used to the gameplay. Sure, I’d played it when I first bought it, but never finished it and that was a couple years back. Well, I finished the campaign a couple days back. Now I’m just waiting for Nikki to finish too so we can do some multiplayer advernturing.
Hmmm….I think there were some other things too that I can’t remember right now…
Oh yeah, one other thing – there are pictures from Nic’s birthday. Give me a day or two to get them uploaded here. I’ll let y’all know when they’re up!
Oh yeah (part II), for those that don’t know (or claim they never knew when I distinctly remember telling them), I’m on vacation this week. So if you’re bored…gimme a call – I should be home. (Nic’s working…sucks to be her)

Woot! Woot!
It’s my birthday tomorrow! I will see everyone at dinner tomorrow. Remember to bring expensive presents!
(Just kidding)

Well, most everyone knows now. Was waiting until today to post the announcement so I could tell everyone I could face to face. A few of you it seems figured it out anyway. I guess it really wasn’t much of a teaser.
ROB PROPOSED!!
That’s right, we are now both officially engaged. He asked me last night, pretty much right before I made the post. I had no idea. I was completely surprised. I, of course cried.
I will show the ring off on the 17th, anyone who isn’t coming out for dinner that night will have to see it later.

Everyone loves teasers….
Keep an eye out for an announcement tomorrow. Will post it after work.

So, it wasn’t too long ago that I was talking to someone (Nikki I think) about King Kong and that Fay Wray is still alive and in her nineties. Well, no more…CNN has reported (as well as a bunch of other news places) that she died. Kinda weird that I was just talking about her being alive…
In other news…It’s really surprising that Dom Deluise is still alive…

Hey Tracy, (and everyone else too).
Since Rob and I haven’t posted in a while and so much has happened this week-end, I figured I’d give you extra reading by posting all the stories separately.
Enjoy and if you wanted you could even make extra comments now too!

Ok, so after heading home from Jen and Mike’s, we were going down the street heading West, towards a 2-way stop (it’s a 4-way intersection, but only stop signs in the East and West directions).
Part way down the street, Rob and I have to pull over because there is a fire truck heading towards us. No big, it ends up turning South at the intersection anyway. So we don’t think much of it.
We get to the intersection and like good driver’s ed students
we make a three second stop. We’re about to go, when more sirens. So we wait.
Good thing we did, a truck comes up behind us and turns left, then two more come down the street towards us and turn to their right. Then from the North, another two trucks go by. Even one of the platoon cheif cars comes by and follows everyone else.
Now this is something we have to see. There’s got to be flames shooting 20 feet into the sky where they are heading! So we follow and around the corner we go and what do we see? A bunch of fire trucks, a couple of cop cars and of course your mandatory bystanders.
No flames, no screaming, nothing much really. Sigh, time to head home for real this time. Around the corner we go and back to the original intersection, we stop, another siren, it’s ambulance this time.
Well he’s not really necessary now, but it was funny to think how fast the fire and police responded to the call, and then to compare that to the ambulance’s response. Good thing the fire dept and police dept are trained in CPR.

Rob and I have been waiting a while for this game to come out. We enjoy playing all versions of Risk. Our preferrence is the 2210 version.
We don’t have a copy of Godstorm yet, fortunately, our friends Jen and Mike do. So–after I finally pulled myself away from the laptop and stopped playing Neverwinter Nights–we went over to Jen and Mike’s to play.
Great game! A bit of original Risk, a bit of 2210 Risk and some completely new aspects. Really enjoyed the twists the Gods added to the game and the underworld sub game was interesting as well.

Ireland called again on Friday but I was at work and had my phone on silent mode so I didn’t even know they had called until I was done work. I was actually planning on answering it this time! Ah well, perhaps they will ring back.
