Okay, seriously. I have found the best way to pass the time while not taking calls at work.

PlanetFeedback.com

This site is a HUGE repository of letters that customers send in. Companies are constantly reading through them and apparently have a greater tendancy to respond when they read about them online. There’s thousands and thousands of letters. Search for your favourite company and see what the general public has to say about it!

Time for a rant. I haven’t ranted lately. Possibly because I really haven’t had anything to rant about. In fact, some may say, after finding out the topic of this rant, that I still have nothing to rant about. That is not new. Why is it that the majority of the populous hasn’t the foggiest idea about elevator etiquette? I’m not talking about talking to strangers in the elevator, farting in the elevator, or even having sex in an elevator (especially when said elevator is occupied by other people than the two or so involved). What bugs me is entering and exiting the elevator. There most definitely is a well-defined order to this: the people on the elevator exit, then those awaiting the car hop in and pray the cable doesn’t break. This rarely seems to happen. The cable doesn’t break all that often either. I can’t begin to count the number of times the elevator stops at my destination floor and the door opens and I’m just about trampled by some obnoxious moron trying to get on. Do they think that if they don’t get on right away the split second I step beyond the door it will instantly snap shut and force them to wait for the next elevator? I hardly think so. I think it’s just stupidity. People are stupid. And rude. So, for all those that read this, WAIT until the people getting off are clear before getting on. What’s unfortunate is that very few stupid, rude people read this. Most of my friends are smrt. Those that aren’t still think they are. And they’re not rude.

Stay tuned for my next deep, thought-provoking piece on why Earth sucks.

Flight

Flying, you see, is very, incredibly easy. Oh sure, you could go about doing it the hard way – call up a travel agent, find some destination, book the flight, drive to the airport, get caught up in all the security precautions, miss you first flight, have to re-book the flight only to find that there are no other flights to your destination until the middle of the following week, choose a new destination, check you luggage, board the plane, and hope and pray that no great deity has deemed it the pilot’s time to go. All that and we don’t even get into the fact that your luggage has arrived at your original intended destination where you won’t be able to fly to until some time next week.

Or, you could do it the easy way – throw yourself at the ground and miss.

The countdown has begun. The 2003-2004 television season is almost upon us. Highlights this season:
Survivor – Pearl Islands (CBS). This time around all the survivors get is the the clothes on their backs. No change of clothes, no bathing suits.
The Handler (CBS). Joey Pants (that’s Joe Pantoliono for those that don’t know) is a CIA officer handling agents under him.
There’s only a few other new shows I’m going to check out. A new one called Skin which is sorta a modern day Romeo & Juliet where the boy’s daddy is a powerful D.A. or something and the girl’s daddy is an infamous porn producer. Next up is Tru Calling. Forget what that’s about but it stars Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy). I don’t think this’ll last. The only other one I’m probably going to check out is Lyon’s Den. This is Rob Lowe’s new show where he plays a DC lawyer…yeah I know, his last character was technically a DC lawyer…

Of course there are many returning shows. Probably too many but that’s what DVRs are for!
